Apple Pay has gone live in the UK today with over 250,000 officially blessed locations (although Apple Pay will work at any standard NFC terminal) and seven banks. In the runup to the launch, the main holdout has been Barclays bank who instead promoted their alternative ‘bPay’ service. Now, though, they have changed their tune. Over Twitter, Barclays announced that it is actually ‘really excited’ about Apple Pay and will add support for the service to Barclaycard debit and credit cards in future....
LG Xpression Plus Software update begins rolling officially from the AT&T. The LG Xpression Plus is the latest device from the brand LG. It is exclusive to tele-carrier AT&T and basically targets the US market. The device packs all-new hardware and software. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. Talking of the new software, AT&T LG Xpression Plus is now receiving February 2019 security patch update over-the-air. As we normally see with tele-carriers, it is kind of a late update for the device....

According to a report from Israeli financial website Calcalist, Apple has acquired facial recognition company RealFace. News of this acquisition comes as rumors regarding face recognition for iOS have increased ahead of the upcoming release of the iPhone 8 later this year. RealFace is a relatively young company, having been founded by Adi Eckhouse Barzilai and Aviv Mader in 2014. The company developed facial recognition software as an alternative to traditional passwords as well as fingerprint recognition....
Earth Day is on Sunday – a day devoted to raising environmental awareness and expressing support for measures to protect the environment. Apple is doing its bit to raise awareness of the day by turning its store logos green and swapping out the usual blue t-shirts for green ones … In addition to the logo and shirt colors, the Signapore store also has a window sticker promoting its GiveBack program. There was a lot riding on Avengers: Infinity War. Following a decade of build-up, the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally brought all of its characters together (well, most of them; Hawkeye and Ant-Man were curiously absent, but hardly missed) and introduced the threat of Thanos six years after he was originally teased in The Avengers’ mid-credits scene. Against all odds, the Russo brothers’ superhero-infested epic managed to satisfy fans across the world — which was particularly impressive following the disappointment of Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron — but it wasn’t without its flaws....
Archer has gone to some pretty strange places before, including inside the body of a comatose Russian defector for a brilliant two-part Fantastic Voyage send-up. Last season, Archer ditched its familiar international espionage milieu and headed to Los Angeles for a Magnum PI-inspired storyline that ended with Sterling floating apparently dead in a pool a la William Holden in Sunset Blvd. References are indeed a big thing on Archer. Apple has announced that Arthur D. Levinson, former CEO of Genentech, has been named as Chairman of the Board and will continue serving on the audit comitee. Apple has also announed that Disney’s CEO Bob Iger has joined the Board. Tim Cook commented: After Steve Jobs stepped down from his role as CEO, he became the company’s first Chairman. Levinson has now taken Jobs’s seat, after the inspirational founder passed away October 5, just a day after the company’s team of executives announced the iPhone 4S at a media event in Cupertino....
Changes are coming to AT&T’s Next program starting in June. AT&T Next, the company’s monthly payment program for buying smartphones and tablets, is shifting from four options to two options and adding ways to lower the monthly payment. AT&T first launched Next as an alternative to two-year contracts back in 2013 with a single plan to pay for new hardware over 20 months with an option to upgrade after 12 months, then later added other options including Next 18 and Next 24 with lower monthly payments and longer upgrade cycles....
