Co-director Joe Russo says that Avengers: Endgame’s tone is very different from Avengers: Infinity War. In less than a month, Marvel Studios will wrap up the 22-film arc that they have been unspooling since 2008’s Iron Man. A direct sequel to last year’s Avengers 3, the Phase 3 capper will be the fourth MCU project for the Russo Brothers and writers Stephen Markus and Christopher McFeely. Having the privilege and burden to follow-up such a well-received film, the pressure to deliver is not lost on the foursome, but at this point, they seem to know how exactly they’re going to wrap-up this massive narrative....

The DC Extended Universe is set to have a big year in 2017, with Wonder Woman and Justice League both rolling out and The Batman set to begin shooting (as soon as they find someone who wants to direct it). In 2018, DC will send Aquaman to theaters as a follow-up to the character’s appearance in Justice League (he was of course already seen briefly in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and that film too has long been scheduled to begin shooting in 2017....

Apple today unveiled 22 new Sport Loop bands as part of its new, limited-edition “International Collection.” They are inspired by different countries around the globe, and although Apple can’t say they’re created for the Olympics, the timing is perfect. Each band costs $49, and they’re limited editions, so it’s not clear how long Apple will continue to sell them. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been reportedly involved with Aquaman for months, but he has now confirmed his role as Black Manta. Pre-production is well underway on Jason Momoa’s solo film, and has resulted in the cast making their way to Australia for the start of filming. Nvidia announced the acquisition of Arm from SoftBank in September 2020. The agreement would have required Nvidia to pay SoftBank $12 billion in cash and $21.5 billion in Nvidia stock, with a further $5 billion secured under an earn-out clause. At the time, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called the merger “complementary,” adding that Arm would retain its branding, “open-licensing model, and customer neutrality.” However, the acquisition required regulatory approval from the US, EU, UK, and China to proceed – and has been fraught with problems ever since....
