The Marvel Cinematic universe may be a blockbuster hit for its family-friendly, hopeful, and inspiring storylines, but that’s only if fans stop themselves from looking too close. Because Avengers: Endgame may be the story of how the heroes saved the universe from its greatest threat… but the movie also includes the single darkest Easter Egg in Marvel movie history. That claim isn’t made lightly, considering the hundreds of inside jokes, comic book references, subtle details, and moments of fan service now immortalized in Marvel history....

Aquaman has passed Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice at the North American box office, becoming the second-highest-grossing DCEU movie domestically. Starring Jason Momoa as the titular superhero, Aquaman opened to a healthy $67 million when it dropped over the Christmas holiday. There was of course a time when the thought of an Aquaman movie was considered a joke, and indeed the idea was even lampooned on the HBO series Entourage (with help from James Cameron)....

To me, the Asus Taichi (pictured above), seems the most interesting of the new products (the full press release can be read on the4cast, here). It’s a tablet/notebook hybrid, featuring two screens and a very interesting operating concept. It’s a laptop that has two displays (one on each side of the lid). The displays are either 13.3 or 11,6 inch and have an HD resolution. It’s very thin and can be used as an ultrabook on the internal display — the specs tend in that direction…Ivy Bridge Core i7, SSD, 4 GB RAM memory....

According to figures released by market research company BCN, Asus sold more tablets than Apple during the first half of 2014 in Japan. Asus’ market share rose 8 percent year-over-year during the first half of 2014, the report claims, giving it a 38.9 percent portion of the tablet market in Japan. Apple, on the other hand, holds a 36.4 percent share (via Nikkei). This is the first time Asus has ever held the top spot in Japan, according to the report....

The WSJ, which has seen an advance copy of a speech being made by Attorney General Loretta Lynch later today, says that while she strongly hints at being on the FBI’s side of the dispute, she will not directly say so. This somewhat surprising fact may reflect her audience – a cybersecurity conference whose delegates are likely to be on Apple’s side. Lynch’s remarks, though, do make it clear on which side her sympathies fall …...

It appears that the expansion of Apple Pay into Australia could be farther off than some had hoped. According to a report today from The Sydney Morning Herald, Apple is in negotiations with at least four of the largest banks in Australia in order to form partnerships for Apple Pay in in the region. However, the report claims Apple is having issues in negotiations centered around the fees it collects from the currently supported Apple Pay markets of the United States and United Kingdom....

The tenth and final installment of the Arrow’s eighth season was an emotionally charged hour for the large cast. After sacrificing himself in Crisis on Infinite Earths to, literally, create a new universe, Oliver’s final heroic act was recognized throughout the finale. With the Arrowverse rebooted, which resurrected several deceased characters, Oliver still remained dead....

With Apple looking all but certain to be dropping the 3.5mm headphone socket in favor of audio via the Lightning socket of the iPhone 7, Intel backs the move to digital audio but suggests Apple is using the wrong connector, at least in its iOS devices. The chipmaker has announced that it will be adding digital audio to the USB-C spec later this year, reports CNET, and that this will be ‘the right connector for audio’ …...

What if Avengers: Endgame is bad? The hype for Avengers 4, direct sequel to Infinity War and swansong to the original roster of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, is presently reaching to Titan and back. In fact, it’s so anticipated and well-established by the past 11 years of Marvel Studios, that the film may even be able to weather being a disappointment. 2019 sees the “end” of many major franchises. Game of Thrones season 8 airs its finale in May, Toy Story 4 closes off Woody’s journey in June and Star Wars 9 ends the Skywalker Saga in December....

Following major announcements from T-Mobile and Sprint (and rumors about big device upgrade changes at Verizon Wireless), AT&T has made its “network related” announcement that it teased last week. The company has introduced a new program named “AT&T Next.” Similar to T-Mobile’s new “Un-carrier” offering, AT&T Next allows users to upgrade their smartphone or tablet device each year (T-Mobile, though, allows this to happen twice a year). In a change from the typical ways of purchasing a phone upfront with no contract or at a subsidy with a contract, AT&T Next allows a customer to purchase a smartphone or tablet with $0 down payment and pay for the device with a monthly cost....
