The Arrowverse may no longer have Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), but his legacy on Arrow lives on, primarily through his two children, Mia (Kat McNamara) and William (Ben Lewis.) With William being Oliver’s first kid, the character had an interesting run as he began as a bit of a surprise to not just viewers, but the Green Arrow himself. William had an incredible journey, both during his teenage and grown-up years, putting this character in a slightly different position from Mia as her present version is still a baby....

The concept of legacy is one of, if not the, most significant through lines in Arrow’s overarching narrative. While it has worked as an underlying facet of Oliver Queen’s journey from spoiled billionaire playboy to hooded vigilante killer to the hero known as the Green Arrow, it has been made an explicit part of the series’ text in season 5. Under this increased spotlight, the idea of Oliver’s heroic legacy has been called into question, with former teammate Artemis turning on him and the rest of Team Arrow because she, like the season’s Big Bad Prometheus, sees the events of the last few years differently....

It’s a new year, and a new decade, which can only mean one thing: the last 2 episodes of the epic Arrowverse crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths are almost upon us! Over the last 8 years, the Arrowverse has brought some of DC’s most beloved heroes to the small screen and has even introduced some new original characters that are just as popular. It is fairly safe to assume, then, that these characters have gotten themselves caught up in many a relationship with all these different heroes flying around....

Apple’s HomeKit platform for connected accessories around the house has been steadily expanding over the last few months, and today August is adding to it with a new version of its Smart Lock. Revealed today, the new HomeKit-enabled August Smart Lock is an upgraded version of the Bluetooth-connected door lock that first launched last year. HomeKit compatibility means you can use the Siri virtual assistant on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch to lock or unlock August Smart Lock using voice commands....

We noted at the end of last year that iTunes music downloads appeared to be on the decline for the first time, a shift that was confirmed this month. The operating assumption has so far been that music streaming services are taking over, and that a growing number of consumers are now content to simply have on-demand access to music, rather than to own it. Asymco’s Horace Dediu, an analyst who often has interesting things to say, has suggested an alternative explanation: that we’re actually listening to less music … His argument is that we all have limited time, and the more time we spend using apps, the less time we have available for other activities, like listening to music....

Arrested Development should end its run after its deeply disappointing season 5. The once revered sitcom no longer has anything left to say, and it feels increasingly obsolete when compared to the critically acclaimed half-hour comedies of the Peak TV era. Netflix barely promoted the release of the second half of season 5, partly due to the harassment allegations made against series star Jeffrey Tambor, but the streaming giant likely realized what viewers and critics are finding out now - it’s a season of television with no discernible purpose, and the laughs have become too few and far between....

While he maintains Apple is a stock to buy with a $220 value, Wu seems a little unsure on Apple’s announcements, saying, “while we are pleased to see lower pricing, we are concerned that price points may remain too high given the tough macroeconomic environment and relative to the 3G iPhone at $199 and $299.” Without further ado, here’s Wu’s message to clients, in full: “Yesterday (09/09/08), at AAPL’s “Let’s Rock” special event, Steve Jobs announced new iPods with lower price points and a renewed content partnership with NBC....

Earlier this year, the MCU’s 23-part “Infinity Saga” reached its climax with the penultimate installment, Avengers: Endgame, certifiably the biggest movie in history (well, unadjusted for inflation). The team at Marvel went to great lengths to find a way to fit every single major character from the franchise so far into the movie, if they were alive in the canon and fit organically into the storyline. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige promises Avengers: Endgame will have an ending unlike any other entry in the comic book movie genre, thanks in large part to it serving as the conclusion of one massive saga. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown significantly since it began in 2008, as the solo Iron Man movie led to a set of movies building towards The Avengers. But, even in the mid-credits of a colossal achievement of its own, Marvel teased that Thanos was on the horizon for the future....

Asus smartphones are quite impressive in terms of the performance and camera department when it comes to the budget segment. However, the company isn’t that active in pushing the latest software updates apart from the security patch updates. That means most of the Asus devices are eligible to receive a maximum of two years of Android OS updates that don’t even stand out consistently. Therefore, plenty of Asus device users either shift to a third-party custom firmware or are stuck with the older generation stock firmware....

Automatic live captions of videos, podcasts, and phone calls was a headline feature of Google’s Pixel smartphones last year, but thanks to a new Chrome update, the same accessibility option is now available on Macs. Simply update to the stable version of Chrome 89, and you can simply toggle on the feature, which turns speech into text in a privacy-protecting way … The new feature was first spotted by XDA Developers....

LEGO has officially revealed their Avengers: Endgame playsets, teasing the return of the Outriders. Avengers: Endgame is easily the most secretive film Marvel has ever released, with Kevin Feige even suggesting the trailers may only use footage from the first 15-20 minutes of the film. Tie-in merchandise has been held back until the last minute, leading to a reduced presence at the New York Toy Fair. Over the last few days, though, toy companies have begun to reveal their Avengers: Endgame tie-ins....

Update: A source close to Microsoft tells me the software – which is not yet complete – will be used only by public sector agencies. No information was provided as to how the software differs from the standard Chinese version of Windows 10. While Apple has strongly resisted building a special ‘GovtOS’ to provide the U.S. government with access to iOS devices, it appears that Microsoft has no such qualms. TechInAsia reports that Microsoft has created a special version of Windows 10 for China, called Windows 10 Zhuangongban, which includes “more management and security controls....

The 14-inch Asus Chromebook CX9 is one of these, and with a price of £1,099.99 in the UK for a Core i7-based model (FHD, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) it’s at the top end of the Chromebook price range. In the US, the Chromebook CX9 starts at $749.99 for a Core i3 model (FHD, 8GB/128GB), rising to $1,249.99 for a Core i7 system with a 4K screen (16GB/512GB). At these prices, especially at the high end, the Chromebook CX9 needs to be excellent in every respect to rival Windows or MacOS options....

One of the advantages of AT&T’s GSM iPhones (and iPads) is that they can roam just about anywhere in the world fairly easily. For that convenience, AT&T charges a hefty – some would say exorbitant – fee (illustrated above, left). Today, AT&T has announced a significant (2.5-5x) drop in international fees. You get 2.5 times the data for $25 which is now set at 50MB. At the high end, you get 4x the data, 800MB, for $200....
