The invading force is the Galactoil Corporation, a company that’s eager to suck a profit out of the alien planet. Apple’s only retail store location in Austria is preparing to reopen tomorrow, May 5, according to a local report by Heute. Like all Apple Stores outside of greater China, the Vienna location closed in mid-March in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In an interview last week, Tim Cook noted that stores in Austria and Australia would reopen within 1-2 weeks, but did not specify exact dates. Apple Kärntner Straße will be the first Apple Store to reopen in Europe and second globally following a single location in South Korea....

AT&T announced today that it’s increasing the data allotment on two of its wireless service plans. Starting on Sunday, November 2nd, Ma Bell will begin offering 3GB of data for $40 per month and 6GB of date for $70 a month. Also sweetening the pot, AT&T is tossing in unlimited talk, text and international messaging at no additional charge. In addition to these new options, the carrier is extending its double data promotion until November 15th for its Mobile Share Value plans ranging from 15GB to 50GB....

It’s taken a while for the new Apple Store design to reach Australia, but the company today opened the first of the refits in Melbourne. The new Chadstone store is three times the size of the one it replaces … Broadsheet reports that the original Chadstone store, which opened back in 2008, has been closed. The store features all the now-familiar elements of the new-look layout, including the Genius Grove, whose trees are ficus, a species native to Australia....

Movifone has gotten ahold of a new poster for the upcoming “Jobs” movie starring Ashton Kutcher (via: MacRumors). The poster is incredibly colorful and even somewhat psychedelic. The image carries a new “Some see what’s possible, others change what’s possible” tagline and invites us to “turn on” our mind. Kutcher looks nearly identical to Steve Jobs in the image, even sporting the classic round glasses, turtleneck, and scruffily beard. “Jobs” is set to hit theaters everywhere on August 16th....

Asus follows the cues from its Asian counterparts like Sony, HTC and Micromax in launching a smartphone with 13MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 88-degree wide angle lens for group selfies. Now in its fifth season, Arrow has proved immensely popular and helped bring to the small screen separate series The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, with a Black Lightning show also currently in the works....

I had a lot of good and not so good times with XP. When it first came out I had horrendous driver issues and not to mention multiple Blue Screen’s of Death. Service Pack 1 addressed some of the issues, but there were still a lot of holes and vulnerabilities. Service Pack 2 did a good job of shoring things up at the time, however at that point I had already switched my browser to Firefox…I had actually switched to it before it even reached version 1....

Earlier today, YouTube’s foray into the streaming cable bundle market was officially unveiled earlier today, offering the “big four” networks and unlimited DVR at $35 per month. YouTube’s solution, of course is meant to be a competitor to existing services like DirecTV Now. Just prior to the announcement of YouTube TV, though, AT&T executive Tony Goncalves talked the future of DirecTV Now in an interview with The Information. Goncalves explained in the interview that the primary focus for the service in 2017 is improving stability....
