Avengers: Endgame becomes the fourth film in history to gross more than $700 million at the domestic box office, passing Black Panther on the all-time charts in the process. Ever since opening at the end of April, Marvel’s latest blockbuster has put together an unprecedented run, earning $2 billion worldwide in record time. The movie got off to such a strong start commercially that it’s widely expected it will eventually overtake James Cameron’s Avatar as the biggest film ever....

Aquaman gets the Honest Trailers treatment in a new video from Screen Junkies. After 2017’s Justice League misfired at the box office, the DC Extended Universe took a year off between films to regroup. Fortunately, it managed to bounce back something fierce with Aquaman, which earned mostly positive reactions from critics and took in a massive $1.15 billion at the global box office. With those kinds of numbers, it’s no surprise that Warner Bros....

LG has really upped its game this year, thanks to the launch of its first Explorer Project device, the LG Wing. Everyone was and probably still is talking about LG and are expecting something similar from them. This is something we have not seen from LG for quite a long time. It is good to see that LG is making efforts to make it big in the smartphone market, even though its user base is quite shrunk....

If a pandemic hadn’t shut down the world, the Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC 2020) would be San Diego this year, and I’d be enjoying some of the best weather on the planet. The Marketplace currently features more than 5,300 apps and integrations with Atlassian products. More than 2,500 of those are cloud apps – and 600 were built in just the last 12 months. “A major focus for Atlassian today is to get many of our legacy on-prem customers to our cloud offerings,” Cameron Deatsch, Atlassian’s chief revenue officer, said to ZDNet....

Back in October, we reported that Apple was one of four tech giants opposing a proposed law in Australia focused on law enforcement access to encrypted data. Now, Australia has successfully passed that encryption legislation, which means companies including Apple, Facebook, Twitter, and Google could be forced to “build new capabilities” to thwart encrypted messages. As reported by CNET, the new Australia encryption law is being spun as essential for national security and an important part of law enforcement efforts in fighting terrorism....

Over four and a half seasons,The CW’s Arrow has grown from a serialized version of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy to the launching pad for a whole host of other superheroes. Along the way, it’s carved out its own niche as part of DC’s television universe. As the stars and writers have become more comfortable, the show has reached some dazzling heights in terms of characterization and emotional storytelling. It’s also packed in a whole bunch of brutal fight scenes, while also fleshing out a heap of heroes and villains from the pages of DC Comics....

James Cameron’s Avatar is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and it’s a good time to look at the impact it had in cinema. Written, directed, and produced by James Cameron, Avatar is his most ambitious film to date, and one that had been in development for years (since 1994, to be exact). Although it was supposed to begin production in mid-1997, after Cameron completed Titanic, the project was put on hold as the necessary technology for his vision of the film wasn’t available yet....

Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) was one of the characters on Arrow, both Earth-1 and Earth 2 versions, to go through an emotional roller coaster of a journey throughout the 8 seasons of the series. Whether it was the original version that went from a lawyer to a vigilante or the doppelganger that was able to fight her darkness, the Black Canary had plenty of adventures throughout the run. While the Earth-2 version may not be entirely done in the Arrowverse, with Green Arrow and the Canaries, it’s an end of an era for the character in terms of Laurel’s time on Arrow....

O2 is currently brazening out the new increase in competition out, saying it has “no plans” for price cuts, but we think these will be inevitable. Also in the UK, Carphone Warehouse, which has held retail rights to sell iPhone beside Apple and O2, is now locked in negotiations with all three confirmed carriers to maintain that relationship, though it seems competing mobile retailer, Phones4U, is also vying for the trade....

AT&T is still the “iPhone network,” according to numbers from its quarterly earnings report. AT&T sold 5.5 million smartphones in the quarter, but 4.3 million of the smartphones activated were iPhones. That means the iPhone represented a whopping 78 percent of total smartphone sales (although some “iPhone activations” could have been hand me downs). Additionally, AT&T’s postpaid customers are almost 60 percent smartphone customers, which means AT&T’s iPhone customers represent a huge percentage of its base—nearly 5o percent and growing....

Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo post a letter asking fans to not spoil the movie once it comes out. As hard as it may be to believe, the film is a little over a week away from hitting theaters, concluding the MCU’s 22-film, 11-year Infinity Saga that helped redefine Hollywood tentpoles and popularize the shared universe model. Already, Endgame is shattering ticket sales records, illustrating that this could be an unprecedented cinematic event....

Avengers: Endgame featured a list of the Vanished with names that have greater meaning behind-the-scenes at Marvel. The cliffhanger ending of Avengers: Infinity War saw Thanos emerge triumphant, fulfilling his insane goal of erasing half the life in the universe. The world mourned, tallied the dead, and then desperately attempted to move on. Part of the grieving process involved establishing monuments to those lost, hauntingly known as “Vanished”. In one key scene in Avengers: Endgame, Scott Lang walked through the streets of San Francisco until he found some of these monuments....

The box office for Avengers: Endgame is already looking promising, with over $120 million in ticket presales already earned domestically. Over the last several years, Marvel Studios has made the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe film one of the most anticipated movies of the year around the globe. The popularity of the franchise is clearly seen at the box office, especially after The Avengers grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide. Since then, Marvel Studios has released six films that made over a billion dollars, with Captain Marvel being the most recent....

The writers behind Avengers: Endgame want to write a Secret Wars movie for the Russo Brothers to direct. Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus have been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011, when they wrote the screenplay for Captain America: The First Avenger. The writing duo has worked together on multiple Marvel projects since then, including Agent Carter and Thor: The Dark World. They have also written the screenplays for both Captain America sequels and Avengers: Infinity War, all three of which the Russo Brothers have directed....

Asymco’s Horace Dediu has estimated that Apple Watch sales since launch total 33M, generating $12B in revenue. Of those numbers, he reckons 15M were sold in the past 12 months, with sales in this period totalling $4.9B. While analysts are never shy of issuing estimates, Dediu does have a good basis for arguing that his numbers are solid – and for his prediction that there’s much more to come …...

The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is used to resolve IP addresses into MAC addresses (hardware addresses). Computers in a network send messages to each other through MAC addresses. At an initial stage of communication, the computers are only aware of their allocated IP addresses on the network. The ARP plays the role of making an ARP request from the requesting device on the network by querying the IP addresses on a receiving device for a MAC address....

Avengers: Endgame broke Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ presales record on Fandango in less than six hours. The culmination of eleven years of storytelling, Endgame will bring the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has called it, the Infinity Saga) to a close. It will further serve as a conclusion to last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, which ended with Thanos wiping out half of all life in the universe, leaving it to the remaining superheroes - including, the original team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes - to pick up the pieces....
