AT&T announced the deal in a press release, noting that it is worth $1.6 billion in total… For those unfamiliar, Straight Path Communications is one of the largest holders of 28GHz and 39GHz millimeter wave spectrum used by carriers....

A New York regulator has written to Facebook and the developers behind at least 11 popular iPhone apps found to be sending sensitive data to Facebook, to demand an explanation. This data included things like weight, BMI, menstrual cycles, alcohol consumption, food consumption, heart-rate, blood pressure and calories burned during exercise – including in one case the category ‘sexual activity’ … The privacy policies of the apps concerned do not make clear the extent of the data-sharing, often not mentioning Facebook at all....

When Nintendo chose to release its first Super Mario title for iOS as a ‘free to play, one-time fee to gain full access’ game, the big question was how many players would hand over the $10 to unlock the app. Research firm Newzoo thinks it has the answer, estimating conversion at 3%, reports the WSJ. AT&T announced today a new plan feature for its mobile share value customers: shareable rollover data. The carrier says more than 50 million subscribers will automatically gain the benefit when it kicks off at the end of the month on January 25th.
