PlayStation 4 Sony received a standing ovation at its E3 presentation when it announced full support for used games, no requirement for online play for single player games, and a starting price of $399. However, the PS4 doesn’t include the PlayStation Eye – Sony’s version of the Kinect. Asus promised the Android Pie updates for their phones quite a time back, but missed their deadlines. After that, Deepak Sharma, head of mobile business, Asus, took it to YouTube to apologize for missing the timeline for the updates from the users and revealed new dates for the roll-out. He announced that the Zenfone Pro M1, Pro M2, and the Max M2 will get the updates by April 15th. Beta versions of the update were out since a few days, but you had to fill a form, deal with bugs in the OS, and report them to Asus....

This week’s Arrow saw the return of some of our favorite female villains from seasons past, continuing the full-circle theme of this season. In ‘The Sin Eater’, Liza Warner (Rutina Wesley), Carrie Cutter aka Cupid (Amy Gumenick) and China White (Kelly Hu), teamed up to take down the guards on a prison transport van and escape. The five companies selected to be part of the project are Bedrock AI Aus, DigitalX, Eastern Analytica, Listcorp, and Pyxta. Ubisoft has been recently published the much-awaited action RPG video game called Assassin’s Creed Valhalla which has been developed by Ubisoft Montreal. We’ve just been handed some internal AT&T information on device changes: . A new tier of device will be created in AT&T’s phone database on October 4th (a Tuesday:) which will require a higher rate of insurance. iPhone (and other devices) will move there on the arbitrary October 4th date. It is curious that the iPhone was mentioned specifically and not other devices. While light years away from a new iPhone launch date confirmation, it could be a sign that new iPhones will hit AT&T in this timeframe....

As we reported last week, the latest beta version of iOS 9 includes support for Wi-Fi Calling on AT&T for the first time. This feature, which is exclusive to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, allows users to place cellular calls over a Wi-Fi network in situations where they have a poor cell signal. To turn on Wi-Fi Calling, go to the Phone panel in the Settings app and select the Wi-Fi Calling option....

The DAT Bill, which is still awaiting passage, seeks to create a scheme of controlled access to public sector data. Under the legislation, data would only be shared for three purposes: Government services delivery, informing government policy and programs, and research and development. As part of making this new role official, Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills and Family Business Stuart Robert announced that Gayle Milnes would become Australia’s first national data commissioner designate once the DAT Bill passes....

There’s a lot happening around the new Apple TV in the news this week. Just yesterday Apple released the first feature update to the tvOS software with version 9.1, adding Siri support for Apple Music plus Apple’s Remote app now works for both navigating and text input. But recent reports claim Apple’s rumored web TV package has been stalled during the deal-making process between Apple and the content providers. Our friends over at iFixIt have analyzed all iPad models – a whoping eighteen different units – to pinpoint the differences between WiFi-only, 3G GSM and CDMA versions of the tablet. Like a CDMA version of iPhone 4 designed for the Verizon Wireless network, the Verizon iPad also has an additional antenna and an integrated GPS receiver. On the GSM iPad positioning is provided by a Broadcom chip. More interesting than that is Apple’s choice of baseband circuitry for Verizon and AT&T models....
