New Avengers: Endgame toys reveal Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) sporting their Quantum suits. Set to debut in less than three months, the MCU’s Phase 3 capper is expected to see the rest original six Earth’s Mightiest Heroes band to take down Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with the story written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Endgame will be the culmination of the franchise’s 22-film arc that they have been treading since 2008’s Iron Man. Plot specifics are still being kept tightly under wraps with both sneak peeks released barely giving out anything away with regard to how the final bout with the Mad Titan will go down. Despite that, considering where things ended in Avengers: Infinity War after half of the world was wiped out by Thanos’ snap, the remaining heroes, with the help of Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Clint Barton/Hawkeye/Ronin (Jeremy Renner) are expected to avenge the galaxy from the intergalactic villain. At the forefront of the fight, however, will be the leaders of the pack, Iron Man and Captain America.
Thanks to a series of snapshots from Instagram user with handle thai_superhero, fans can now have a better look at Stark and Rogers wearing the supposed Quantum suits for Endgame. The new matching gear will allow the heroes travel to the Quantum Realm and possibly even through time as part of their mission to restore peace and order in the galaxy following The Decimation. Aside from the two prominent Avengers, the slew of toys also include a Captain Marvel figure. Check out the images below.
It’s important to note that the new suits’ purpose have yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios - although since it resembles Hank Pym’s (Michael Douglas) gear in Ant-Man & the Wasp when he saved Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) from the alternate dimension, the public assumed that it will be used for a similar purpose. What’s interesting with this particular set of toys, however, is that Captain Marvel doesn’t seem like she’ll don a similar costume. A recent report suggests that she may have the ability to time travel which explains why she doesn’t need the white matching gear.
As fans know, Stark and Rogers have yet to patch things up after their falling out in Captain America: Civil War that resulted to the team breaking up. This left Earth at its most vulnerable, allowing Thanos to strike much easier than when the Avengers were still together. Early drafts of Infinity War had the two heroes patch things up, but the Russos eventually scrapped the idea, saving their reunion in Avengers: Endgame. Much has already been said about the possibility that Thanos may have been defeated if only the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were operating as a unit. It appears that this is the idea that will be reinforced in the Phase 3 capper. With all six founding heroes of the MCU surviving The Decimation, many are convinced that this could be their final mission before some, if not most of them bid the franchise goodbye - either permanently or temporarily.
