The latest Avengers: Endgame theory taking the internet by storm involving Ant-Man defeating Thanos in the oddest way possible is turned into a hilarious GIF. In less than a month, MCU’s Phase 3 capper will finally hit theaters, revealing the fate of the franchise following the decimation of half of population in the universe in Avengers: Infinity War. But despite the movie’s release slowly inching its way, some fans continue to come up with their own speculations on how the story will pan out, with possibly one of the weirdest theories recently making the rounds online.

It doesn’t help fans’ agitation to know more about Endgame that Disney is being extremely secretive about the film. There’s a total of four previews now, but each one is crafted in a way to not reveal anything plot-wise. Despite this, the public continues to scrutinize these trailers and teasers to see if there’s any visual clue that might be an indication to how the upcoming battle with Thanos will go down. No big discovery so far, aside from one theory that’s so bizarre but also kind of makes sense.

According to this new thesis, Ant-Man can defeat Thanos by shrinking in size and entering the villain’s body via his anus. Known as the “Thanus Meme” the concept is now presented visually in the form of a GIF shared on Twitter by @HumanTrackboard. The short clip combines the scene of a shrunken Ant-Man during the mysterious battle sequence from the latest Endgame trailer with a clip of the Mad Titan acquiring the Time Stone from Doctor Strange in Titan from Avengers 3. Josh Brolin reposted a popular Instagram upload of his from last year where he’s seen sitting on the toilet, supposedly doing his business in response to the said meme and in the caption including the hashtag #flushantman. Check out the clips below:

Considering the scarcity of official details with regard to plot of Endgame, it’s not surprising that fans are becoming this creative when cooking up possible scenarios for the film in their heads. Admittedly, this is not the first time that it’s pointed out that Ant-Man may be the key in defeating Thanos given his superhero abilities, especially in terms of changing sizes without compromising his power. Last year, another meme went around online featuring the beloved MCU hero preventing the Mad Titan from collecting the Infinity Stones by suddenly popping out from the gauntlet and running away with them effectively blocking his success in Infinity War. Similar to the “Thanus Meme,” the logic behind this idea is laughable given the complexity of the situation but in hindsight, it might have actually worked.

Kidding aside, Ant-Man will play a pivotal role in the heroes’ attempt to take down Thanos and restore peace and order in the universe in Avengers: Endgame. His connection to the Quantum Realm, which is expected to factor in their upcoming mission, is enough proof of that. Since he’s the only person on the remaining roster to have actually gone subatomic and enter the alternate dimension, he can guide his comrades as they enter it more likely using the Quantum Tunnel.
