Much of Avengers: Endgame is being kept as secret and under wraps as possible. Marvel definitely doesn’t want fans to know much about what’s going to happen in this movie. While there have been three trailers released, there hasn’t been a ton of new content in these trailers. Plus, there is speculation about whether or not the footage shown in the trailers is accurate or if some of it is purposely misleading.
While Tony Stark hasn’t been the only focus of these trailers, he has had quite a few scenes shown. Not a lot of specific information has been revealed, but these trailers do five a few things away about what we can expect from Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame. Here are 8 things we learned about Iron Man and Endgame.
HE WON’T BE WEARING HIS IRON MAN SUIT AS OFTEN
One big reveal from the most recent Endgame trailer is that those rumored red, white, and black suits are real. We see Iron Man as well as Captain America and the other Avengers wearing these new suits.
While we don’t know exactly what they are for, it’s likely they will be used to enter the Quantum Realm, space, or for time travel. With the introduction of these new, very different uniforms, Iron Man won’t be wearing his usual suits as often. This will be an interesting departure as his suits give him his abilities and powers.
HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH PEPPER POTTS WILL GET SOME FOCUS
As far as what we’ve seen of Iron Man in the trailers, it seems apparent that his relationship with Pepper Potts will get some focus and attention in this film. In the first trailer, we see Tony Stark leaving a message for Pepper while floating through space. Then, in the most recent trailer, there are scenes and voice-overs that highlight his relationship with Pepper.
We don’t know what has happened to Pepper since the snap, but it’s likely that their romantic relationship will play a role in Tony’s character and motivations going forward.
HE’S GOING TO BE RESCUED FROM SPACE (WE THINK)
After the very first trailer for Endgame, one of the biggest questions fans had was what was going to happen to Tony Stark and Nebula. Tony was shown floating through space in need of rescue. Things seemed pretty dire as Tony explained in his message to Pepper that the food and water had run out and the ship was almost out of oxygen.
However, in the most recent trailer, we see that Tony has possibly been rescued and reunited with the Avengers. Of course, this is assuming that the scene shown in the trailer was accurate. Also, the scenes in the trailer are vague as far as where they occur chronologically in the film, so it’s hard to know how events will play out.
HE WILL LIKELY TRY AND RECREATE MAKING HIS OWN IRON MAN SUIT LIKE IN THE FIRST IRON MAN MOVIE
There is a brief scene shown in the first trailer where we see Tony and Nebula working on something together in what appears to be a spaceship.
This scene looked quite similar to the one in the first Iron Man film where Tony begins to build the first version of Iron Man for the first time. It would be a great parallel to see them trying to make some sort of suit for Tony in the film.
HE WILL REUNITE WITH THE AVENGERS(HOPEFULLY)
One of the most exciting moments from the most recent trailer was seeing Iron Man with many of the other remaining heroes as they walked together wearing their new matching suits. Many fans want to see the original Avengers all reunite and team up together in this film.
If this scene turns out to be accurate, this will be a great and fulfilling thing for many fans. Since the Avengers have been fractured and apart for so long, this would be a perfect ending to the Avengers movies.
CAPTAIN AMERICA MIGHT LEAD THE TEAM THIS TIME AROUND
The trailers for Endgame have had a large focus on Captain America, but this does give us some clues about Iron Man’s role in the movie, too. It seems that Cap is being set up once again to play a leadership role, in an even more noticeable way than he has in other films.
If this is the case, Tony might not be as at the forefront when it comes to leading the heroes. However, it’s also likely that Iron Man and Cap will work together once again to lead the Avengers and save the world.
HE SEEMS ESPECIALLY DETERMINED AND FOCUSED
Iron Man might sometimes have a very sarcastic and flippant personality, but he cares very deeply about saving people and using his abilities as Iron Man to protect people. In the footage we’ve seen so far, Tony Stark seems determined to do what it takes to make things right.
All of the surviving heroes, including Tony, have been through a lot of loss and trauma. Plus, they have the guilt of letting Thanos win hanging over their heads. It’s likely that all of these heroes will be more intent than ever before on making things right.
HE’S GOING TO HAVE NEW ALLIES
We already know that Nebula and Tony have some scenes together and that they are likely working together while in space trying to escape. This new partnership will be an interesting one to see explored on screen. Along with that, Captain Marvel is now in the picture.
She’s already been briefly introduced to the Avengers in the Captain Marvel post-credits scene as well as a brief scene in the newest trailer. She will likely play a large role in this movie, and seeing her team up with the different Avengers is something many fans are looking forward to.
