Charlize Theron’s action-packed spy thriller Atomic Blonde is getting a new trailer, the preview for which is now online. The film screened at last month’s SXSW festival and the reviews were positive, focusing largely on Theron’s physically impressive performance as a butt-kicking British spy taking on scads of assailants, John Wick-style. It’s no coincidence that Theron’s character is being compared to Keanu Reeves’ indestructible assassin, as Atomic Blonde was helmed by John Wick co-director David Leitch.

People not lucky enough to have seen Atomic Blonde at SXSW were given a nice juicy taste of the movie, via the release of the Atomic Blonde red band trailer, Now, even more Atomic Blonde trailer action is on the way, ahead of the movie’s July theatrical release date.

A tweet from Universal Pictures UK teases the release of a new Atomic Blonde trailer set to arrive tomorrow, April 11th. The teaser shows us quick snippets of action: Theron looking cool; car chases; a silhouetted punch; James McAvoy looking a little bit skeevy; someone training a sniper sight on Theron as she strolls down a street; a guy whistling and a whole bunch of umbrellas opening, apparently as cover for Theron. The new wave music and ’80s-style lighting indicate the movie’s setting: Berlin at the very tail-end of the Cold War as the wall was about to come down. In between the shots, in neon lettering, is the caption: “Trust No One.”

Based on the graphic novel The Coldest City by Antony Johnston, Atomic Blonde follows MI6 agent Lorraine Torrance (Theron) as she journeys to Berlin to deal with an espionage ring responsible for taking out an undercover agent. John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones round out the cast. As we saw in the red band trailer, things get hot-and-heavy between Theron’s character and Sofia Boutella, adding a note of sexual intrigue to what otherwise looks like a straight-up orgy of balletic violence.

The story sounds very John Le Carre, but the trailers promise anything but a typical dry, cerebral spy thriller in the Le Carre mold. With stunt-maven David Leitch directing, it’s no shock that Atomic Blonde is packed with intricately-choreographed fight scenes; many featuring Theron, a former ballet dancer who is no stranger to tackling physically demanding roles. Theron actually got so into the fighting in Atomic Blonde that at one point she cracked two teeth. That’s called sacrificing for your art.

Theron has a big summer coming up, between her appearance as the female John Wick in Atomic Blonde and her role as an icy villain who locks lips with Vin Diesel in The Fate of the Furious. We’ll see what the new Atomic Blonde trailer reveals when it arrives tomorrow.
