Asus launched Zenfone Max Pro M1 one of the best selling budgets smartphone in the Indian market, currently.  Recently, Asus claimed that it managed to sell over one million Zenfone Max Pro M1 smartphone units in just six months.

Now the company working on the Zenfone Max Pro M1 successor Max Pro M2 which recently received EEC certification in Russia. Now, the Dinesh Sharma, director of Mobile Business, Asus India, revealed the company plans for the phone updates. The company confirmed that the Zenfone Max Pro M1 will get Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) feature via an upcoming software update.

He also said that the phone will also get Google’s Android 9.0 Pie OS update soon. Not only Max Pro M1 but the Asus Zenfone 5Z flagship smartphone from the company will also receive the Android 9.0 Pie update. However, there is no specific date revealed by the company for the update.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with 5.99-inch Full View display that supports 2160 x 1080 pixels of resolution and offers 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone powered by Octa-core CPU under the hood which clocks at 1.8 GHz along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. The company launched three variants of the phone, one comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage, second comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage and last has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. All the variants have micro SD card slot on board that supports up to 512 G external storage.

The phone featured with vertically placed dual camera sensors on the back side along with Softlight LED flash. There are a 16-megapixel main camera with f/2.0 aperture and 5-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture. The rear cameras of the phone support faster autofocus, PDAF, and 4K video shooting features. On the front side, there is the 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls along with f/2.2 aperture and dedicated LED flash.

The Zenfone Max Pro M1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. The company’s other phones come with custom interface ZenUI but the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is the first smartphone from the company that offers stock Android experience. And the phone is not a part of Google‘s Android One program. It supports Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, 3.5 mm audio jack port, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and micro USB 2.0 Port connectivity options. The phone has a fingerprint scanner on the back side of the phone and also supports Face unlock feature. It packed with  5,000mAh battery under the hood which supports 10W fast charging charger.
