I recall a previous post here which we told you it was on its way, this morning Aspyr Media confirms the news that it is bringing Civilization V to the Mac, just in time for Christmas. Sid Meier’s Civilization V for Mac is the latest entry from the flagship turn-based strategy franchise. This is Aspyr’s biggest release this year, and it is being made in partnership with 2K Games. Developed by Firaxis Games, Sid Meier’s Civilization V reinvigorates the classic turn-based strategy genre with an “astonishing new engine”. There’s an entirely new combat system, deeper diplomatic interactions and a host of expanded features designed to create a “fully immersive experience”, Aspyr said. (As someone who has lost many hours to various iterations of this game, that claim scares me). In Civilization games, players must build and defend their empire in order to become the greatest ruler the world has ever known. “The Civilization franchise is a fan-favorite and one of the best-selling Mac games ever.
