Much like we previously looked at the intelligence of the characters in the Arrowverse, we’re taking a look at their strength in this list. Strength is a difficult thing to measure, especially for the super-powered people that populate this DC multiverse.

We are measuring strength based on a number of different factors. While physical strength, i.e. how much a hero can lift, will play into this, both endurance and level of power will also be discussed within the context of strength. Here are the main characters of each Arrowverse show ranked by strength.

WHITE CANARY

The White Canary, Sara Lance, is the Captain of the Waverider and the misfit team - the Legends - who live there. Unfortunately, Sara is bottom of this list due to her lack of powers. However, she has been able to come back to life before which certainly helps her case.

Sara is a formidable fighter and overcame the blood-lust that accompanies a trip to the Lazarus Pit. She’s been trained by the League of Assassins and is an incredible leader. However, she is not as strong as the other vigilantes on this list.

GREEN ARROW

The Green Arrow is in much the same position as the White Canary. Oliver Queen may just be an even better leader and a lot of his strength comes from the loyalty of his team and tactical decisions. Oliver is obviously extremely skilled with a bow and arrow though.

Not only is his hand to hand combat top-notch and his weapons training unparalleled, but Oliver is also strong enough to face down super-powered individuals. This is the man who once bested the Flash, despite having no superpowers to his name. Oliver has repeatedly demonstrated his actual strength in battle.

BATWOMAN

The vigilante of Gotham City has approximately equal strength to the Green Arrow. Although Kate is currently below Oliver in terms of experience, the latter is really at the end of his career, whereas Batwoman is just beginning and is already just as strong as the man beneath the hood.

The cousin to Batman has taken on the Bat-family name and symbol and created something amazing from it. From Kate’s use of gadgets to her hand to hand combat training, Batwoman is by far one of the most skilled heroes on this list and therefore carries great strength.

ATOM

Ray Palmer actually has a lot of physical strength from his Atom suit which certainly helps. He can also shrink down and grow to enormous sizes, meaning that his powers are useful in a variety of unique circumstances, even if he doesn’t use them too often.

Ray’s greatest strength is his mind though. He managed to create his own suit and, by extension, superpowers and he can pretty much think his way out of any problem. He’s also one of the longest-serving members of the Waverider which gives him a lot of experiential strength.

CONSTANTINE

John Constantine has an impressive set of powers. After headlining his own show and becoming part of the Arrowverse, it’s fair to say that Constantine is one of the main characters and one of the strongest who could have featured on this list.

Constantine’s strength comes from his knowledge of the mystical world and his ability to cast spells and hexes. He’s been useful on more than one occasion in fighting against the magical threats that the Arrowverse has thrown at our heroes and there’s always more room for the reckless Brit to increase his abilities.

BLACK LIGHTNING

We never expected to see Black Lightning join the Arrowverse but he is now firmly part of this multiverse thanks to the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover that will serve as the CW’s next major DC event. The character carries a lot of strength from his metahuman abilities.

Although Jefferson Piece is weaker due to coming out of retirement and not being in his prime, Black Lightning can use his energy manipulation and electricity powers to fight many different supervillains. He can match these other characters in hand to hand combat but his powers are almost on another level of strength.

THE FLASH

The fastest man alive is, of course, going to be one of the strongest people on this list. Since he first gained his powers, Barry Allen has developed so much as a leader of a crack team of experts and as a superhero. His scientific mind certainly helps to increase his strength.

However, by honing his abilities, Barry has managed to use his gifts in a variety of distinct ways. Capable of running on water and across the side of buildings, traveling through time, phasing through objects, and firing electricity blasts, The Flash is a difficult man to beat.

MARTIAN MANHUNTER

The Martian Manhunter has been a major player in the Arrowverse since he was first revealed to the girl of steel. J’onn has been the leader of the D.E.O. and has been a key member of Team Supergirl during some of its most difficult times.

The Martian is highly skilled in combat and physically strong. He’s a good tactician, can shape-shift, fly, change his density, and has a number of psychic abilities. If J’onn allowed himself to fight to his full potential, he would be nearly unstoppable.

SUPERMAN

The man of steel is both physically strong and one of the most powerful people in the Arrowverse. We are set to see a variety of different Supermen in the upcoming crossover, but the name itself inspires both hope and great feats of emotional and physical strength.

With a frosty breath, laser eyes, and the ability to fly and move at super speeds, there’s really not much that the Kryptonian can’t do. He would be top of this list but there is actually another alien from the planet Krypton that has proven to be even stronger.

SUPERGIRL

Kara is by far the most powerful main character in the Arrowverse. Her strength comes from the sun, much like her cousin Clark, however, she is even stronger than the man of steel. She has actually been shown to have beaten Superman in the past.

Kara has all the same abilities as her cousin, although she can inspire hope in a way that we have never seen before. She has her own show, although Superman will also be receiving one soon. Supergirl is easily the strongest main character on this list.
