The CW releases a synopsis for upcoming Arrow episode ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ teasing the hunt for Adrian Chase aka Prometheus (Josh Segarra). Arrow is rapidly nearing its season 5 finale, with only five more episodes to go once the show returns from its spring hiatus at the end of this month. After the big reveal of the season, that Prometheus is Adrian Chase, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow have been busy trying to take him out using any means necessary. In the most recent episode, ‘Disbanded’, Oliver even shut down the team and called in his old friend, the Bratva, to try to get the job done.
When the show returns, Adrian is still at large, and now it’s up to Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and her new friends at Helix to bring Prometheus to justice. In the trailer for ‘Dangerous Liaisons’, Felicity is seen at odds with Oliver over her willingness to do anything to take Adrian down, and it looks like this episode is going to pit Oliver against Felicity in a moral showdown.
Now, The CW has released the official synopsis for the episode, which confirms that we are going to see Oliver and Felicity try very different tactics to bring their common enemy to justice.
This synopsis confirms Felicity’s decision to continue working with Helix, even when they break the law. It also reminds fans that the SCPD are now on board with Team Arrow in the hunt for Chase, although he managed to slip through their fingers in the last episode.
THE SEARCH FOR CHASE INTENSIFIES — Oliver (Stephen Amell), Team Arrow, ARGUS and the SCPD kick off a citywide manhunt for Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra). Helix tells Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) they have a way to find Chase but they will need something big, and illegal, from her in return. Joel Novoa directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Elizabeth Kim (#519).
While the synopsis doesn’t reveal anything new, it puts the focus on Chase as well as Felicity, reminding fans that the big bad is still the number one priority for the team. It also mentions ‘Team Arrow’, which suggests that Oliver is done trying to disband the team (for now), and that they are back together to fight the big bad. In addition to hunting down Chase and trying to keep Felicity from doing something she will regret, we already know that the episode will be exploring the Oliver/Felicity breakup in more detail - which is a lot to pack into a single episode. However, Arrow has plenty of experience with packing in the action and drama, so ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ is bound to be an incredible return for the series.
