Things aren’t going to get any better for Oliver Queen anytime soon, at least not according to a new synopsis for an upcoming episode of Arrow. All year, the battle against Adrian Chase/Prometheus has spelled doom for the Green Arrow and his friends. Of course, it’s almost made for some great television and a strong season for the flagship show of the Arrowverse. But while Oliver has had his resolved strengthened and gained some valuable allies, he’s not out of the woods yet.
As the finale approaches, things will get worse before they get better. Next week, the hunt for Chase will continue in “Dangerous Liasons” before Oliver and Felicity will get trapped and forced to relive their breakup in “Underneath.” Thanks to a new trailer for the remaining five episodes of the season, it looks like it’ll be all-out war as the team faces Chase and his minions. We already know they’ll be forced to team-up with Deathstroke, and it looks like there’s a pretty good reason thanks to a new synopsis.
The CW released the description for “Honor Thy Fathers,” which will air in three weeks and lead into the final two episodes of the season.
Thanks to the release of Arrow’s finale date, we know there will be no more interruptions from now until the end of the season. As such, the action and return of so many characters will likely set a relentless pace for the show. We previously suspected that Chase would recruit old foes of Oliver’s to help take him down, but now it looks like the reason for the return of people like Cody Rhodes is due to something more political.
“CHASE CONTINUES TO TORMENT OLIVER — Oliver (Stephen Amell) returns to the mayor’s office and faces one of his most pressing issues yet – the forced release of dozens of violent criminals prosecuted by Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra). Meanwhile, a crate is delivered to Oliver’s office containing a mysterious corpse encased in concrete. Laura Belsey directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Sarah Tarkoff (#521). Original airdate 5/10/2017.”
With the reveal that Chase has been terrorizing Star City as a serial killer, his role as DA will be called into question. It looks like the results will see a number of villains released from prison at once, which will surely be hell on Team Arrow, who will be forced to clean up the streets once again. The reveal of ‘“a mysterious corpse encased in concrete” is also quite puzzling, and surely won’t amount to anything good. With executive producer Marc Guggenheim co-writing the script, expect a pivotal and tense episode as Arrow heads to its five-year endgame.
Arrow returns Wednesday, April 26 with “Dangerous Liaisons” at 8 p.m. on The CW.
