Later this year, superhero Aquaman (Jason Momoa) will join Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and fellow newcomers The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) in Justice League. Whereas the stories of Batman and Superman have been done many times before, this team-up movie will mark Aquaman’s first appearance on the big screen and in the DC Extended Universe, beyond the brief glimpse of the character in last year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Arthur Curry, the ruler of Atlantis, will soon lead his very own live-action movie as well. Aquaman, to be directed by James Wan (Furious 7), reportedly won’t be an origin story, but instead will be set after the events of Justice League. According to Wan, the film is a “swashbuckling action adventure” that focuses on the love-hate relationship between Arthur and his future love Mera (Amber Heard). The movie is also set to star Patrick Wilson and Willem Dafoe.

That’s about all we know so far on Aquaman, since the film won’t begin shooting until later this summer in Australia and Italy. But thanks to The Aquaman Shrine, a newly leaked piece of concept art for a possible video game of the movie gives us a great look at Momoa in the key role. The image below shows Aquaman outside his watery kingdom surrounded by both fish and shark friends. The artwork features the previously released logo for the film, so it’s safe to say the new game that was introduced at December’s EipixCon is tied to next year’s movie.

With Aquaman in his iconic green costume and sporting a trident, the outfit is more in line with what the character wore in Batman v Superman rather than what we’ve seen so far from Justice League. In a recently released team picture from the latter, Aquaman is wearing a full body armored piece, but it appears that maybe he may go back to the green outfit in his own movie.

Fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too much for a console game, however, since the Aquaman video game may just be a simple mobile game. Eipix Entertainment, an independent game developer, is best known for creating casual point and shoot games including Spiny Core, Nom Nom, Hoppy Land, Free The Witch, Vermillion Watch and Dark Parables, a fantasy series released for PC.

It seems this new concept art is just to get people excited and not reminiscent of any actual gameplay. There’s still probably more than year to go though until the project is released, as the developers would not doubt like to unveil it close around the time of the movie’s debut.
