The iPad application AT&T has announced plans for a consumer home automation and security suite of services that will begin trials this summer. The services, which exist under the “AT&T Digital Life” naming umbrella, can be controlled via mobile devices (including iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches) and on the web. The system allows users to control home features such as thermostats (even individually by room), power outlets, garage doors, lighting, and more....

The latest version of Smoke provides a new user interface that combines Autodesk’s creative tools and effects with its track-based editing: ConnectFX for high-end effects, and Creative Tools—featuring “a robust toolset with proven high-end finishing tools.” While noting a successful run for the trial download of the software, Autodesk said it implemented even more features and enhancements based on user recommendations....

Earlier this year, the MCU’s 22-part Infinity Saga culminated in Avengers: Endgame, easily the biggest movie event of the decade. Apps running on the iPhone 5s crash twice as often as the same apps on other models, according to data released by app performance monitoring company Crittercism (via AtD). The usual rate for app crashes on iPhones is a little under 1 percent, while the rate on the iPhone 5s is closer to 2 percent. The CW’s Arrow season 8 takes place on Earth-1, picking up one week after the events of the season 7 finale. Over the last seven years, Arrow has followed Oliver Queen’s journey from killer vigilante to inspiring hero. Season 8 will serve as a lead-in to Crisis on Infinite Earths, where it’s implied the protagonist will die in battle. A lot can be said about Arrow. The show helped kick-start a wave of superheroes on television....

Arrow may be ending soon, but those involved still need to say goodbye. The CW series burst onto the scene in 2012 and kicked off the popular Arrowverse. Its lead, Oliver Queen, is a mentor for other superheroes of the Arrowverse, especially The Flash’s Barry Allen and Supergirl’s Kara Danvers. However, despite the show’s impact, Arrow will air its series finale early next year after 8 seasons. There’s also a chance some characters from the show will live on, with a Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff set to air a backdoor pilot as one of Arrow’s final episodes....

The upcoming Arrowverse crossover, “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, will be packed with dozens of DC characters, including three different versions of Superman. With three different actors playing the Big Blue Boy Scout, the Man of Steel will certainly have a strong presence in the multi-series, multiversal event. The five-part event consists of episodes of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Batwoman. Based on the 1980s DC Comics event of the same name, “Crisis on Infinite Earths” is the Arrowverse’s biggest and most inclusive story yet....

Could the Flash of Earth-16 have accidentally erased all of his world’s metahumans from existence during their version of Flashpoint? A new theory suggests this is the case, while explaining away a continuity problem introduced into the Arrowverse by Crisis on Infinite Earths. “Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part 1” established a minor retcon; that the Legends of Tomorrow accidentally traveled to the future of Earth-16 in the season 1 episode “Star City 2046” and that the older version of Oliver Queen they helped to save his city from the son of Deathstroke was not a future version of the Green Arrow they knew....

As we head into 2018, it seems like most smartphones will be embracing the design language of the iPhone X. ASUS is leading the way with its most recent announcement…. The company today announced its new handset, the ZenFone 5, which has a notch at the top, similar to the iPhone X. However, the company says that it has a smaller notch, with a 90% screen-to-body ratio as opposed to the iPhone X’s 86% screen-to-body ratio....

Next year there is so far only one DCEU offering for fans to get excited about, but it is definitely drumming up some serious hype! Aquaman, due for release in October 2018, will be a whole new look at the King of Atlantis, with Jason Momoa in the titular role. Momoa will be joined by Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta....

The CW releases a synopsis for upcoming Arrow episode ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ teasing the hunt for Adrian Chase aka Prometheus (Josh Segarra). Arrow is rapidly nearing its season 5 finale, with only five more episodes to go once the show returns from its spring hiatus at the end of this month. After the big reveal of the season, that Prometheus is Adrian Chase, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow have been busy trying to take him out using any means necessary....

We are sure the Lumia 900 launch will be great for AT&T, but the carrier might be setting expectations a little high: Sure, Microsoft and AT&T will be throwing a lot of cash at this launch, and pricing their “Hero” device at $100 with plan certainly is aggressive, but does anyone really this launch will overshadow the 1 million-unit weekend of the iPhone 4S launch that AT&T itself said: If you are looking for advantages in the Lumia 900 over the iPhone, it has a bigger display and LTE—but so does just about every Android phone released in the past six months....

The final battle of Avengers: Endgame almost included the Dark Elves from Thor: The Dark World as part of Thanos’ massive army. As the culmination of a 22-film story, Avengers: Endgame ended the only way possible, with nearly every character imaginable sharing the screen. Heroes new and old joined forces at the remains of Avengers HQ to face Thanos once again, but this time as a united group and with a lot more reinforcements....

Fans can now see what the Chitauri Gorillas from Avengers: Endgame look like under their mask. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with the script penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the ensemble film wraps up the main Infinity Saga story with a massive battle between the Avengers and Thanos. Both sides bring in all their allies to one massive battle at the movie’s final act, and while Iron Man and MCU’s founding characters bring in almost every other hero in the franchise, the Mad Titan also brought in all his minions....

Avengers: Endgame is packed with references to other Marvel films and Marvel Comics properties, but it also has a very special and fun Easter egg related to the late Stan Lee – specifically his dog. The Marvel Cinematic Universe goes all the way back to 2008 with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, the first film in what would become a very successful (and profitable) connected universe of over 20 films, with more coming in the near future....

We may be eagerly awaiting a 10.5-inch iPad Pro, said to likely be unveiled at WWDC, but it’s still interesting to look back to where it all began. Serial leaker Sonny Dickson has provided us with photos of what he says is a fully functional prototype of the first iPad, dating back to three months before launch … It was apparently discovered in disguised form. The Eee Box comes with the option to VESA mount on the back of LCD displays, for “the ultimate minimalist space-saving solution”. There’s touch sensor buttons and the company has clearly paid a little thought to design, smooth curves and its paperback-thin construction could make this interesting to floating Mac switchers, scared to leave Windows....

A tie-in Funko Pop! two-pack for Avengers: Endgame teases a rematch between Thanos (Josh Brolin) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). The two first encountered each other at the start of Avengers: Infinity War and with the green rage monster still high from his stint as the top gladiator on Sakaar, he was obviously blindsided by how easily the Mad Titan took care of him. Now, it seems like he’ll have another crack to at least settle the score between them....
