A decade and a half later and audiences are still in awe of the martial-art-influenced ability that harnesses a perfect combination of beauty and deadliness. While not everybody in the Avatar universe could bend the elements as they pleased, and only one person could bend them all, there were certainly some benders that stood out more than others in terms of what they were able to do with their respected element....

The first and only DCEU movie to come out last year, the James Wan-directed flick marked Warner Bros.’ return to the superhero film arena after taking more than a year hiatus following Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Images are surfacing on Twitter that depict actor Ashton Kutcher as the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs during his bowtie-wearing days. The biopic is apparently filming now at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Calif., where students are live on scene to capture the action. Following a temporary injunction on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia, retailers say they aren’t prepared to back down despite legal threats from Apple and will continue selling the device by setting up new entities outside the “jurisdiction of Australian courts”, according to a report from The Sydney Morning Herald. One retailer, dMavo, is even reorganizing their online operations and setting up an entirely new entity elsewhere in Europe to push the tablets, saying they’re ready for a “cat and mouse game” with Apple:...

Despite what Mark Ruffalo claimed, co-director Joe Russo says there’s only one ending to Avengers: Endgame. Prior to the film’s release, Ruffalo claimed to have shot five different endings to the movie. At the time, he also said that his script had some fake scenes in it, while others were missing entirely. Though it would have been easy to think he was making a joke about the movie’s alternate endings, in the same interview he implied that Captain America gets married in the movie....

AT&T has announced that it has come to agreement to acquire U.S. carrier Leap Wireless (which operates the Cricket brand) for $15 per share. The acquisition will cover all of Leap Wireless’s assets, expanding AT&T’s coverage to Leap’s 5 million subscribers. Leap, notably, runs a pre-paid deal for iPhones in the U.S. This move enhances AT&T’s spectrum, retail store count, employee number, and more, so it is likely a positive move for its wireless customers....

Released last month by Macphun and leading HDR photographer Trey Ratcliff, Aurora HDR automatically and intelligently merges multiple exposures of an image together, radically expanding details in light, shadowed, and colorful portions of the photo. The experience of a Brisbane woman provides a handy reminder to exercise caution when buying gadgetry via classified ad sites. The Herald Sun (via Gizmodo) reports that the 21-year-old paid AUS$1500 (US$1335) for what she thought were two seemingly-new iPhones, boxed and sealed, without checking inside. Once she got home, she unsealed the two boxes to find each did indeed contain an apple – unfortunately it was the fruit rather than the phone....

AT&T is set to release fourth-quarter 2012 financial results Jan. 24, but the carrier announced today that it sold more than 10 million smartphones during the quarter. The company’s sales figure beats its previous record of 9.4 million, set in the fourth quarter of 2011, and includes “best-ever quarterly sales of Android and Apple smartphones.” AT&T Mobility President and Chief Executive Officer Ralph de la Vega noted AT&T saw 110,000 smartphone sales a day, because customers “flocked” to its latest Android, Apple, and Windows devices....

The tech analyst’s latest Future of Jobs Forecast estimates that as many as 12 million jobs could be lost to automation across Europe by 2040, primarily impacting workers in industries such as retail, food services, and leisure and hospitality. Mid-skill labour jobs that consist of simple, routine tasks are most at risk from automation, the report said. These roles make up 38% of the workforce in Germany, 34% of the workforce in France, and 31% of the workforce in the UK....
